copycats

this was a post by Paul a. (from http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/28/zune-hd-hands-on/#comments) regarding to the upcoming release of the Zune HD - which is also considered as the next contender of the iPod touch.

--------------------------------------------
Microsoft can't create anything original because it's not in their DNA to make something original. Windows was successful because they tricked IBM, but they haven't been able to duplicate that success in other products, because once people know the trick they are rarely fooled again.

They can't physically make a product in the market until someone else shows them how. Let's look at their history.

Windows: copy of the MacOS
Microsoft Office: copy of Lotus 1-2-3, WordPerfect
Internet Explorer: copy of Netscape
Xbox: copy of the Playstation
Vista: copy of OS X
Zune: copy of the iPod
Live Search: copy of Google

In the not so distant future.

ZuneHD: copy of iPod touch
Bing: another copy of Google.

end of his comment.

ouch. pretty true isn't it?

microsoft on the other hand keeps on denying it. but why oh why cant these guys release their "thing " or "bling" first for a change so they will not be accused of copying the technology of other companies.

what i do know is when Apple speaks everybody listens - and everybody will copy their technology

when Microsoft speaks nobody listen. they are good in pushing crapwares to you and insists that if you don't get it... youre dead.

*funny nugget

december 2007. i showed a photo of then newly released line of iPods to my friends in school. they said that the products from apple were great but quite expensive. one of my friend said "i think zune is better" and i replied that zune is not doing well in the united states and i havent seen one in any stores in manila. most of my friends quickly asked "zune... anu yun???" - which literally means: ZUNE...WHAT IS THAT?

may 2009. a few hours ago. i told my sister that zune is battling ipod touch. she turned to me with a wrinkled forehead and her 2 eyebrows already touching each other and asked "zune... anu yun???" - which literally means: ZUNE...WHAT IS THAT?
